JALJEEVAN MISSION -Laying of New HDPE(High Density Poly Ethelene) Pipe Line and Installation of FHTC's
Jal Jeevan Mission :
Jal Jeevan Mission is the central government program, in which the main aim of this program is to provide an adequate and portable drinking water to every house hold in rural villages in India by 2024.In this program no house hold left without tap cinection. And the government planing to supply 55 litres per capita per day which means 55 lpcd.
55lpcd :
- 5 litres for drinking purpose
- 3 litres for cooking
- 10 litres for cleaning dishes
- 15 litres for bathing
- 10 litres for toilet
- 12 litres for washing clothes
Jaljeevan mission also provides every government Institution with water facility like GP buildings, anganwadis, schools, vetarnary hospitals etc.,

Laying of New HDPE(High Density Poly Ethelene) Pipe Line Under JJM and giving Functional Household Tap connection :
- Finding the source
- Excavate the ground from source point to end point upto 1 meter Or 3 feet 4 inches (trench size)
- Laying down the HDPE pipe
- Keep the HDPE pipe joints tight
- Place the GI (galvanized iron) Air valves at every 500m distance
- Keep the air valve joint tight
- Cover the air valve with RCC rings (varalu) upto the 5 feet
- Pour the river sand or normal sand in the rings, fill upto top
- Find the house hold point place a sadle on HDPE pipe
- Use pvc pipe or GI pipe (which approved by AE), complete the connection into the house with elbows
- Raise the tap point through the rcc ring
- Fill the ring with PCC, finish the plastering work

Fixing up the Air valve pipe with Rcc rings
GI air valve installed and filled with sand
Installing the tap point on HDPE pipe with sadle
Installing FUNCTIONAL HOUSEHOLD TAP CONNECTION
